Passports
A passport of the Velocity Interoperability Network identifies its holder as a citizen of the Network and is issued by the Immigration Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network. It is issued only to persons recorded in the register of citizens; who is a citizen, and how citizenship is acquired, is explained under Citizenship.
A passport entitles its holder to enter and leave the Network at any point of entry without a visa. It does not exempt the holder from the entry rules: a citizen makes the same declaration on arrival as a visitor and registers devices in the same way, though a citizen's registration lasts for as long as the device remains certified rather than for the period of a stay.
The first passports will be issued once application procedures are in place. Enquiries may be sent to contact@immigration.gov.vin in the meantime.

- Official passport

How applications will work
Step 1: Confirm citizenship
Applicants must be recorded in the register of citizens. An applicant whose entry cannot be found is asked to obtain a certificate of citizenship first.
Step 2: Submit an application
The application form will be published on this site when procedures are in place. Applications state the type of passport sought and, for an official passport, the assignment and the member organisation.
Step 3: Pay the fee
Fees are fixed by document type and are payable on application. No fee is charged for an official passport or an emergency travel document.
Step 4: Attend for verification
Identity is verified in person before a first passport or a replacement is issued. Renewals are verified against the expiring passport and do not require attendance.
Step 5: Collect the passport
Passports are collected in person or delivered to the address on the application. Delivery time is stated when the passport is issued and is not counted against the processing standard.
