Every document the Department issues now carries a published processing standard, including five working days for a visitor visa and twenty working days for a first passport.
- Register of Points of Entry Published
The Network may be entered only at a designated point of entry. The Department has published the register of crossings, their opening hours and the services available at each.
- Entry Rules and Device Registration Take Effect
The rules on what may be brought into the Network apply to every traveller from today. Devices connected to the Network must be certified and registered on arrival.
About the Department
The Immigration Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for entry to the Velocity Interoperability Network, the issue of visas to visitors and workers, the issue of passports to citizens of the Network and the register of citizens.
The Department was established on 6 September 2026. On the same day it published the entry rules, the register of points of entry and a service standard for every document it issues.

Entry rules
Everyone entering the Network is subject to the same rules on what may be brought in and what must be declared on arrival. Read them before you travel, whether you hold a visa or a passport of the Network.
Every device that will be connected to the Network must be certified and registered at the point of entry. Registration is free and normally takes a few minutes for each device.
Processing times
The Department undertakes to decide a complete application within a published number of working days: five for a visitor visa, ten for a member staff visa, fifteen for a work visa and twenty for a first passport. Performance against each standard will be reported every quarter from December 2026.
